Tony Carrasco

Born in New York City and raised in lower east side manhattan, currently living between Miami and Milan Tony Carrasco is an international Dj, sound designer & remixer who has risen in prominence in the international global clubbing scene. He's DJed internationally and performed alongside a whole host of world-class DJ's including his childhood buddy Jellybean Benitez, who together when they were both young teenagers would go out every weekend or sometimes during the weekdays to manhattan discotheques to experienced New York City underground clubbing. These trips to the decadent Hell's Kitchen club opened up a whole new world to Me and my buddy Jellybean Benitez (who later would become Madonna's boyfriend). After we would go to all these different clubs mainly in Manhattan, but also the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens we would hunt down the music we heard. We would go to Colony Records and Downstairs Records to try to buy these amazing records that just wasn't available anywhere else. We were like music junkies me and Jellybean searching for the beat. The amazing Walter Gibbons(who influenced me the most mainly in the technical aspect of Djing, blending two records together, chopping two records and bringing back the break to extend it longer), back in the day we played alot of 45rpm singles, Acetates, Albums and of cause 12inch singles. Tony Carrasco became a leading figure in italy’s Italodisco and Italo House scene. Tony took the daring risk of leaving New York City, just when he was about to become a DJ star in the New York Club scene in the late 70’s, 80’s & 90’s after his Nyc DJ Residence in underground club PLAYGROUNDS and djed in many other NYC Clubs. Thru Judy Weinstein( Tony Carrasco was a member of her NYC infamous FOR THE RECORD POOL and later became DEF MIX Manager(of Frankie Knuckles, David Morales & Satoshi Tomie), Tony was offer a DJ Residence Gig in Italy, which led to his residence DJ at STUDIO 54 in milan Italy and put Tony Carrasco on the map in Italy and all of Europe. in all of Europe Tony Carrasco has djed and released music putting Italo Disco & Italo House on the map with his Timeless Anthem KLEIN & MBO – DIRTY TALK the track that influence the international Band New Order’s – Blue Monday and Chicago House late 80’s & 90’s House Music productions. But Tony Carrasco NYC music roots has always been Disco House, House, Soulful House, Disco, Jazz, Techy Rhythms. Growing up in NYC Tony Carrasco was influence by the great djs of Nyc, and would go out often and listen with his childhood brother DJ Jellybean Benitez, together they would go to the Clubs, the Shops, Record Companies and look for those classics tracks David Manusco, Walter Gibbons, Larry Levan, Ritchie Kaczor, David Todd and Tony Smith played during the week days and weekends, still today this has a big influence on Tony Carrasco Music selection DNA and of cause it depends on the party he is book to play a
